I've got a T580 with a 15.6", 1080p, matte, touch-panel, model number NV156FHM-T00. Even though this is a 1080p panel, according to the published specs, it uses a 40 pin eDP 0.4mm pitch connector:

It's an OK screen - major issue is that it's dim. Finally got tired of it - don't want 4k, but went for a 4k screen that (on paper) gets much brighter, and still employs a 40 pin eDP connector - the B156ZAN02.3. I just realised though, that according to its specs, the connector's pin pitch is 0.5mm:

So if these spec. sheets are accurate, there's no (easy, no soldering) way for me to connect the B156ZAN02.3, I suppose?
Apart from the eDP cable inside my T580 right now (whatever's connecting the NV156FHM-T00 panel to the motherboard), I have on hand Lenovo's '01ER030' eDP cable, meant for 4k/UHD panels for the T580 (and other models). It's a 40 pin cable, but I have no idea what the pin pitch on it is... In case it helps, the cable can be looked up here:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/...ptops/thinkpad-t580-type-20l9-20la/20l9/parts
after entering '01ER030' in the search field.
Any advice would be appreciated. The new B156ZAN02.3 panel should arrive in a few days.![]()
Did I order the wrong LCD panel for a T580?
