I bought the m140 for myself, and the 630m for my wife. Mine has the Centrino sticker on it, and my wife's has the Pentium M sticker on it. Is there a difference? They are both rated at 1.73.

Processor wise there is no difference, you have a Pentium M, your wife's laptop also has a Pentium M. Centrino is just a branding initiative by Intel and it consists of..
Pentium M Processor(now with the release of the Core Duo/Solo, they are also included)
    Intel Chipset
    Intel Wireless
If a laptop uses all of these parts then it is branded as a Centrino and you get a "Centrino" sticker slapped onto the laptop. If one of them is different then you get the regular Pentium M sticker.

There is no other 'real' benefits of being branded as a Centrino. It is just one of the many marketing tactics used by Intel.

Did you get the Dell wireless card (1390, 1490?) for your wife's computer? And yours has the 2200 or 2915 Intel card? That'd probably be the only difference, like miner said.

You should change the laptop spec.
    You have a centrino pen M not p4 m.
Centrino pen-m is based on P3 not p4.

I think dude is referring to xbox's specs in his signature, that he has a "P4 M", when the correct nomenclature would be "P-M" or some derivation that does not include the "4".

So nothing to worry 'bout. :p

Yup that's what I wanted to say.
I just wanted to point this out because p4 m is an older technolgy, and it will make xbox look better if it's Pen m(or Centrino p-M like he chenged) instead of P4m.
