Hi there!
My case:
1)Laptop with N9600mGT DDR2 (400Mhz) in full load 77°C
2)Same laptop,same GPU but now with DDR3 (800Mhz)memory chips - 89°C
Is this possiblle or could be a second gpu faulty? Because it come to me declared as "NEW" but it have a broken edges.
This is picture of second gpu:

The memory used on graphics cards are similar to normal memory cells. Most desktop memory cards run in the neighborhood of 4-6watts of energy. They usually have 8-16 memory chips on them.
Most laptop graphics cards which I have seen usually have less than 8 memory chips on them. It is hard to say how much power they use, most likely less than 5watts. They are not going to change the graphics card operating temperature that drastically. Are you sure that they are the same 9600mGT?
Does one graphics card possibly have a higher graphics core clock speed, or raster speed?
That would make more sense, with that increase in temperature.
Are you sure that the heatsink is applied correctly?
and what program are you using to read graphics temperature?
Riva Tuner?, or GPU-Z?, or HWMonitor?

I remember hearing that GDDR5 runs hotter than GDDR3; that was a big part of the big complaint when the ATI... 4870? cards for the Alienware M17s came out; they were originally listed as GDDR5, but were downgraded to GDDR3 due to heat issues. Not sure about DDR3 vs DDR2, though... or is it GDDR3 vs GDDR2?

Other clocks are really same: Core 500Mhz, Shader 1250Mhz
I'm using EVEREST, it have excellent option protocol to the file and also for doublecheck GPU-Z.
I'm asking because I don't know if I should send it back to the Taiwan for reclamation
Difference temperature DD2vsDD3 Anyone know???
