    hey guys, Im new here.

Im planning to buy a notebook and I'm doing a little bit of research now.

Is there a big differences between T5450 and T7100 on GeForce 8600?
    Both with 2GB RAM.

Secondly, since I will definitely get a 8600 graphic card on the new notebook, is it better of just to have a non-santa rosa chipset without the GMA x3100 graphic card?

What other benefits i can derive from a Santa Rosa?

    Thanks & Inputs are welcomed.

How big the difference is between a T5450 and T7100 is really, really subjective. My advice is to buy as fast a CPU as your budget allows.

If you get a GeForce 8600, you won't be getting an Intel X3100. It's one or another. "Santa Rosa" improves battery life.

I read that GPU plays an important part in determining the graphic power.

how big should the CPU is to be efficient (not having any bottleneck, such) in relation with the 8600 or/and 8400?

    Thanks

The T7100 @ 1.8 Ghz should be plent of power for gaming. What ever is the best deal, go with it. Both of those processors are pretty decent.
