    Hello,

    I have a question,
are there any recognizable difference(s) between AMD's Turion 64 X2 Dual Core Mobile Technology on models TL-60, TL-62, TL-64, and TL-68?
    If so, what are they?

    Please Respond ASAP!

    Many Thanks!

Umm, their each faster and faster and faster...but that all depends on what you do with your computer, so start with that.

The only real difference is clock speed. The TL-68 running faster than the rest.

I am going to be running Vista Home Basic with 1 game, internet and a quite a few programs. To do this, would the TL-62 be okay?

    Many thanks,

    The Tl-62 is a 2.1Ghz dual core.
You should be fine playing games and doing whatever with it.
If its less than $50 to upgrade to the Tl-64, I think it would be worth it.

Will Vista + 1 Game + Quite A Few Programs still be fast with the TL-62??

I want a processor that will do this quickly and be fast.

What graphics option have you chosen, if I might ask?

Because, if you're only going to run one game, I would recommend spending your money on the processor instead.

Can I substitute the TL-62/66/68 for the TL-56 in my Dell? It looks like I can and it will have to deal with 4 more watts of heat. That doesn't sound like much of a problem.

    What am I missing?

you can do it; i.e you can downgrade to the TL 56 though it doesn't rely make sense.

Why do you want to downgrade?

I don't want to downgrade. I want to UPGRADE to the faster processors, hopefully a TL-68. Dell put TL-60s in some.

I want to be sure the cooling system is adequate. The apparently older, higher power TL-60 used/rejected 35 watts like the TL-68. And the older TL-56 used 33 watts.

I have not tried to call Dell as I have never been able to get any satisfaction from their telephone support in Pakistan. Nor will they honor their warranties. Next time it will be an acer or HP.

2 watts difference wont be an issue. Beside whatever cooling compond (e.g Artic Silver 5) you would be using would be better than the cooling pad used by Dell.

So don't worry about heat issues. Just use AS5 and RMclock (undervolt) and you should be fine.
