The microphone port on my HP 6700 series LAPTOP is in the front. I have a new logitech stand that I bought and a new Logitech speaker system also. My problem is the way my laptop sits on the stand does not allow me to plug in the stereo plug into the front of my laptop. IS there a way I can plug the stereo plug into my laptop without having to use the microphone port on the front my laptop.
Is there any adapter that converts the stereo plug into a USB plug so i can plug in via USB port? Or would the best possibility be to buy an express sound card and plug it in that way? Please help!?

An external sound card is probably your best bet here. They've got a few USB sound cards over at Newegg; anything from 2 to 7 channels and they don't look terribly expensive either. Express sound cards don't seem to be as common.

Umm... did you scroll down? There's 5 channel for roughly the same price and 7 channel for about double. And it's under $20 for 2 and 5 channel units...
