Hey, I may appear new to the forums but I actually used this site a lot to help me pick out a laptop (ended up getting an Asus m50vm) and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but...
I was wondering if there was anyway to disable the eject button. I keep hitting it when I move my laptop around.
Currently running vista 32-bit
Thanks
Oh and I apologize if I posted in the wrong section :S

The only way I know of is to use software to lock the drive.
I doubt it can get much easier than this (unless you find a program that supports hotkeys). -
I'd go with software - if you stop it physically then it'd be a pain when you actually needed the drive, wouldn't it?

I cant give you the solution you want buy you can
Take out the disc drive take off the faceplate and stick it back on the laptop with some tape tada ( if you do this i will cry ) -
You can do solve this, however it can be a hassel.
You need to physically remove the optical drive from your laptop. Than remove the front bezel from the drive.
You can mount a small thin but sturdy piece of metal over the button, so that it does not get pressed in even when you push the button.
You can also try gluing the button down in the closed position (you can use hotglue for this)
I do not know of anyway to do this with software, while still being able to use the optical drive.
You can always disable the optical drive through "Device Manager"
But disabling it will make the drive impossible to use until you reenable it

Hmm thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I wasn't very clear, but what I meant by saying "without software" I meant without any third party software. Like an option in windows to turn off the button.
There's no way I would physically alter anything on this machine.. That's just crazy
But apparently since there's no simple option to lock the drive I think I might just try that Driver Locker program.
Thanks again!
