Display problems - I found this in Intel's website but don't know what it is for?

I swapped laptops with my little brother. After using his laptop for about a week I noticed that there was a problem with either the screen or the intel GL960 graphics card. A few random sections of the screen had a tint of light green.

    This is what I did:
1- Clean installation of Windows and drivers --> green shades on the laptop LCD but not on external screen.

2- Clean install of Windows + removal of Intel's VGA drivers (I'm using Win XP generic driver) --> no green shades on the internal or the external screen.

Am I right assuming that the IGP is dying?

I found this on Intel's website. Can someone tell me what is it for?
