I am planning on going into animation in college (2D/3D) and this laptop I found not only looks amazing, but also has the CPU/GPU to do the type of work that I would be doing. The thing is its a 14" display and only 1366x768 HD resolution. All I wanted to know is for my type of work, is this good enough or will it just not cut it?

It's hard to find a much better resolution on a 14" laptop.
It should be fine for your needs

are you doing hi def work? that is the question. Do you need a high level of detail? If so you need a better res screen. Also does your work require color accuracy? If so you will need an external screen that is ISP or find a laptop with an ISP screen.

1366x768 is atrocious on laptops. I wouldn't recommend anything under 1920x1080.

And the poster above means IPS screens, not ISP :)

1600x900 should be your resolution sweet spot in a 14" machine.

What are the specs of the machine and what programs will you be using it for? I suspect that a 14" laptop with 1366x768 resolution probably doesn't have premium hardware, even if it meets the requirements of the software you'll be using. 2D and 3D animation will want powerful hardware.

I was saying that realistically 1080 is minimum for productive work compared to lower res. Lower res screens have a hard time fitting stuff on it. i never said a 14 inch screen has a 1080p screen.

I use my netbook sometimes that has 1366x768 and i hate it...such a pain to get work done on it but at least my netbook has that res...what would i do with a 1024x600 screen or whatever
