I have an HP dv9535, luckily it's the laptop with an ultimate fail rate. Anyway, I just want other opinions on the condition the chips are in. The CPU looks bad, a lot worse than the one in the how-to video I watched. I attached an image, if anyone could just tell me if it is fixable or if I need a whole new mobo/chipset. thanks in advance.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
It's hard to tell what the CPU looks like with all that thermal paste on it?
Ultimately, though, CPUs almost never go bad; I've only gotten 1 or 2 dead ones out of hundreds; I'd almost certainly bet that your motherboard or some other component is fried, and not the CPU. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Yup to the above. CPUs very rarely go bad. Most of the time it's usually the memory controller in the CPU. But most likely you have other issues with your motherboard/GPU.
Do I need a new one? Is it shot?
