If I wanted to change the keyboard for a laptop, would the vendors here be able to order the part?

I would think yes, that would be the safest bet. You can try ebay or other sources to save a few bucks but you won't get the support from the reseller in case of issues.

They should but if their is warranty that would be first thing otherwise go eBay and find matching P/N to replace your keyboard.

Depending on what brand the laptop is, you may be able to source the part directly from the laptop manufacturer. It's usually possible with Dell laptops. Some other manufacturers are not willing to source parts easily though.

Asus doesn't sell the parts directly. Their clueless customer support doesn't even know the part numbers.

I believe if you have your serial number and contact the manufacturer, most of the time they will tell you the parts number.

Sometimes although they will be generic. for example, X1000 titian VI (made up) B-Panel.
