Do these HP MXM cards work with normal notebooks?

So while I was trying to improve my cooling, I ruined my heatsink (completely fell apart into 7 peices , because while I was heating it I walked away and it got too hot).

I did manage to get the heatsink back together, but it's a huge mess.
Anyway, I have to run my 9600m at 300/300 to keep it cool.

I've got another heatsink, but it's for a large type III mxm card.
I was thinking I would buy a new card, use my good heatsink and sell the 9600m to make back some cash.

I was looking at this card:
    HP COMPAQ 8710P-256MB LS-333AP FX 3600M VIDEO CARD - eBay (item 250670532766 end time Aug-01-10 00:29:43 PDT)

It should be an upgrade (bonus), but I'm not sure if it will work. In the back of my mind I keep remembering something about HP cards not working with other notebooks, I think I read it on an ebay listing.
Don't know if it's true or not.

So should I get that card for my GT627?

Is there any other card I should look at (something around $100USD)?

    I wish I bought this:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-1GB-Laptop-Video-Card-Nvidia-QuadroFX-3700M-/250666835351

    But I didn't realize it was a 280m when I saw it...

Hp cards not working on other notebooks? It should work, because Nvidia or Ati makes graphic cards not hp.Hp can only mod it by changing bios options, but I do not belive a idea like hp cards not working on other notebooks.

Things are a little bit more complicated than that.
Don't know too much about mxm, but you might want to check out mxm-upgrade.com

That's what I thought, but then how do you explain this:
Video Card NVIDIA G84-950-A2 HP 8510W 8510P TYPE MXM II - eBay (item 270514135132 end time Aug-10-10 03:29:01 PDT)

It's a great card, but out of my budget :(
