Hi guys I bought a 1530 about a week ago and I am curious as to whether my HDD might affect performance and how?
Here are some specs:
250GB @ 5400
3GB of RAM
Intel duo 2.2
Nivida 256MB 8600 GT
Vista home priemium (32 bit)

I'd say your HDD is pretty good, 5400rpm is plenty fast enough for a laptop really

if dont already have a 7200rpm drive you're probably not missing anything. just wait and get a solid state when they drop to consumer prices, then you'll really notice a difference.

Nah, it may increase load times of some games by a few seconds, but that's not a very big deal for me.

Thanks for the imput guys

I have two of Hitachi's fastest 7200rpm notebook drives in my laptop in Raid 0, and I still think they are kindof slow. They are slowto me because my desktop has 3 Hitachi 15K ultrastars in Raid 0 on SAS. the performance is insane, I get around 430mb/sec of data transfer across the array. I love Serial attached SCSI.

Is that 430mb steady/average or the start up speed ir burst speeds?
Do you think my HDD speed bottlenecks this system?
