Hi, I'm looking to get the following barebones laptop, MSI-1651 ID2:
http://www.xoticpc.com/msi1651-barebone-laptop-p-2478.html?wconfigure=yes
it uses a PM45 chipset, and I'd like to throw my T9500 (socket P, 478) into it, but i'm not 100% sure it's possible.
Intel's pm45 validated cpu list doesn't show the T9500 (800 fsb) but shows the T9600 (1066 fsb), but i read in another thread that the PM45 should support the T9500, depending on bios
i just want a second opinion, thanks

It should work.

it will depend on your bios.

No problem on Clevo M860TU M980NU.
-
The chipset supports it; it's up to your BIOS now.

Thank everyone , i will try and find out with MSI if the latest bios supports the T9500

Intel has a very nice chipset/cpu compatibility chart.
However, in a finished machine, support completely depends on the BIOS.
It's easy for the hardware makers to lock out components (upgrades, etc) they do not want you to have.
Does PM45 Chipset Support T9500 Cpu?
