I was wondering, since the S-video connector has 7 pins, and video uses 2 (?) What are the other 5 for? does it port audio data too?
    Thanks.

sorry it only carries video at approx 400 lines resolution.

you will need a separate audio cable.

    regards.

    John.

S-Video can only carry a video signal, and no audio, like Tinderbox (UK) has mentioned. To use audio along with it, you will need a sperate audio cable.

    Thanks,
isn't it 400 lines very little? TV has 525! I thought S-video was better connector than RCA. Was I wrong?

    - S-Video is 480i. RCA cables are use for composite and component. S-Video is better than composite (also 480i) since it separate chroma and luma, but component is better than both since it can carry HD (720p, 1080i, 1080p) signals.

You could use a Headphone to Composite Audio cable
