It seems my intel series 320 gets hot after extended use (couple hours), is that normal? It almost feels hotter then the OEM Toshiba 5400rpm hdd.
Also it seems the OCZ Agility 2 is even hotter overall (installed in hdd caddy replacing optical drive).

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
What are you using to measure it? SSDs do not get hot...probably the poor cooling system in the MBP..

Yeah, SSD's do warm up - but not to an uncomfortable degree as you're noticing. In my little Acer U30Jc, my 320 Series 160GB SSD does not warm up (noticeably) at all.
The MBP's cooling is definitely the culprit here as Tsunade suggests - the seemingly higher heat output is because the storage subsystem can allow the cpu/ram 'engine' to do a lot more in less time - which it is obviously not designed to do well (...thermally speaking).
Are you also noticing throttling on your system? This could be an indication that the cpu is overheating and indirectly heating up the SSD too. -

Apparently there is something under my left palm that is heating up. Does anyone know what is there? It appears to be getting hotter then normal.
Does anyone else have a intel 320 installed in a 2010 mbp that gets hot?
