Hello and good morning everyone! TGIF by the way! I was just looking through some info online on a website named skinnelabs thermal reviews. It's a site where the moderator goes through and tests every brand of thermal paste, radiator coolers for desktops, and a bunch of other heat related computer things. Well I was trying to see how skinnelabs rated the thermal pastes that I use and have recently bought fresh tubes of. I have been using Artic Silver 5 my whole life until I read that AS5 has electrical conductivity and not to use it on certain types of GPU where circuits can be close. Well since I just found this out I did some quick looking around on reviews for other thermal pastes. I can't really afford to drop $20.00 on 2.5 grams so I went with a thermal paste that seemed reasonable and also had good reviews called Artic Cold MX-4. I used some this morning on a PS3 I reflowed and noticed that the fan seemed to run less and when the system was working hard the fan didn't need to kick into overdrive to keep it cool.
Figuring they must have even better stuff out there for the last few hours I was reading over a bunch of Skinnelabs information on more of the tests he conducted and that eventually steered me to something new called Indigo Xtremem X1 Precision Thermal Interface. I haven't been able to fine very many reviews on and the few that I found said it was the best thing ever leaving no mess at all. But others said that it was junk. I guess its pretty much a sticker you put on your CPU / GPU and the first time your system heats up it liquefies the metal inside the sticker and makes the maximum thermal connection possible. The people that could get it to work gave it the best reviews. But some people said they couldn't get it to melt at all. There werent very many reviews at all to read over so I figured I'd leave a little story about it on here hoping that some of your guys have tried this stuff out. If so what did you think?
THANKS!
JMH
Does anyone have any experience using Indigo Xtreme X1 Precision Thermal Interface?
