as I understand it the release version of the GeCube 1070n MXM vBios is 90 or 95w TDP limited which interests me greatly as the Zotac vBios pulls more watts than my laptop was intended for and I think it is responsible for causing certain problems like random cpu throttling in GTA 5 that aren't temp based

Maybe I was working off incorrect info but I thought the vBios the Eurocom has on the GeCube 1070n was limited to 95w because of all the problems GeCube was having with their cards at 115w also why is the vender on this bios listed as MSI? Were the original GeCube cards shipped with the MSI vBios?Last edited: Apr 4, 2018 -
hello and great day, were you able to install the gecube vbios to the Zotac 1070? or are you still running msi oem vbios on it. Mine is pulling 152w from my mxm socket and dont know if its to much for the zotac card. I really really appreciate your input.. Thanks a bunch man!

@Handale30 please give some more info on the power drain of the zotac 1070 with msi bios. does it really draw 152w?? that maybe a strain for alienwares mxm slot... does it draw this much when gaming? all the time?
have you tried to undervolt the card? with afterburner? you can probably change the vcore chartsLast edited: Dec 4, 2018 -
Wow sorry, I forgot to answer! Well no, its not always that it draws so much power, it usually peaks during hard gaming between 120w - 130w but it has reached 152w twice. The laptop is still pulling hard and actually got to benchmark a couple of games vs a newer 7820hk GTX1070 Alienware 15 and I got higher frame rates with the zotac so
What did you end up doing?

nothing... i am waiting maybe for 2060mxm??
there are rumors a chinese company already made them for use in their laptops...

I hope this does happen that way we R4 users have something to aspire to update to.

I was away from this site for awhile but yes, I think I was able to install the GeCube bios but I ended up going back to MSI.
Does anyone have the release GeCube 1070 MXM vBios? I'd like to experiment with it on my Zotac 1070n
