Does anyone think a Dell E1545 15.4" LCD could fit and replace the 15.4" LCD in an Acer 5610z?

Just thought I would throw this one out there in case anyone has ever tried using different LCD's from different brands on each other. I know a lot of them are interchangable from experience in replacing many screens, but I thought maybe someone would have a hunch on here so I don't have to tear the LCD screen out of the Dell E1545 I have that sits with a dead mobo to put into my Acer 5610z. They both have a 15.4" screen and are about the same age. Thought I read once though that no Dell screens can be used with other brands? IDK figfured someone would have a clue. Thanks!

As far as I know - proprietary connector, so you read it right.

Dell has a tendency to be rather proprietary in it's design. Even if the screen is the same size and uses the same connection, you'll need to take note on screw placement, and whether the inverter will work with it or not. I'm not sure firsthand but I have a feeling fitting the Dell screen in the Acer is a bit of a stretch.
