I thought it is but when I look at this intel page:

    IntelĀ® Core? i7-2630QM Processor (6M Cache, 2.00 GHz)with SPEC Code(s)SR02Y

    They listed this info:

Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) = 8 GB
    Memory Types = DDR3-1066/1333
    # of Memory Channels = 2

What is it supposed to mean by "dependent on memory type"?

So to sum up the questions:
    1. Does i7 2630qm support 8GB dual-channel 1333Mhz memory?

    2. If I buy a new laptop that comes with 4GB Ram (1 slot), then I insert a 2GB Ram in another slot. Will my system run in dual-channel?

3.If I insert 2 x 2GB (total = 4 GB) or 2 x 4GB (total = 8 GB), will the system automatically run in dual-channel? (I mean, do I need to configure something in BIOS or Windows too?)

    Thank you very much. =)

The answers to all of your questions are yes.

A 4 gig and a 2 gig will split into [2x2gig dual channel] and [2gig 'extra' ram].

    Basically ^

And when they say "8GB max" it's "8GB per core"
