Does putting Lenovo's 1440x900 display into a Dell Latitude E4300 seem possible?

    I'll be blunt.
    • I want a 12.1" or 13.3" laptop with a fast processor, a backlit keyboard, the ability to hold 8GB RAM, a dual-DVI docking station, two 2.5" drive slots so I can run SSD+HDD, and an LED-backlit 1440x900 display. For some reason, nobody builds this laptop.

    • Dell's 13.3" Latitude E4300 covers most of the bases. Fast processor (C2D SP9600 @ 2.53 GHz w/ 6MB cache), backlit keyboard (woop), can hold 8GB (two DDR3 slots), supports dual-DVI docking (E-Port Plus, I use it with my E4200, sweet dock), and supports two 2.5" disks (replace optical with a 2.5" caddy). Tragically, it's missing the piece I crave most...

    • Near as I can tell, Lenovo's X300 and X301 are the only laptops on the market with 13.3" WXGA+ matte LED-backlit displays. I'm trying to figure out if I can put one of these displays into a Latitude E4300.

Here's the guide for removing and replacing an E4300's display panel, and here's a breakdown of the parts from the X300 display I want. Looks like I can grab an X300 display (Lenovo 42T0476) from eBay for about $280 shipped.

Does this look like it will work? Has anyone attempted something similar to this? I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing some super-obvious part that needs to be purchased (or simply won't fit in the E4300 display assembly) and/or size difference or something that's going to prevent the X300 panel from working properly in an E4300.

    Guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

since the displays are from 2 different companies don't even bother to try that. Fail most probably.

Review the model/part numbers and see if they both can be interchangeable.

    cheers ...
