Hi, I just picked up a Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4831 off the internet and to my dismay it doesn't have a S-Video out, I should have checked the specs more thoroughly.I regularly connect my computer to my TV to watch movies, so I'm wondering if it's possible to connect a VGA to S-Video adapter to get on the TV. I've tried to find out if the ATI Radeon 3100 will support the TV-Out option but have had no luck in finding an answer. If anyone knows if it's possible it would really help me out.
Thanks.

here's an adapter.. it should work

Your right it does, and that cable is the one I'm looking at getting, but what I need to know is if the video card supports TV-Out capability, because if it doesn't then that cable won't work.

I have the ati radeon 3100 graphics card in my toshiba laptop as well. I bought the adapter that jcovelli recommended and I could not get it to work. I updated drivers and installed ATI's catalyst control but nothing seems to get it to work. pressing fn+f5 doesn't work either. My guess is that this video card does not support tv out through an adapter of this type.

I see, guess I'll need to get another laptop.

I have tried one of those adapters with my M1330, didn’t work. And there were few others who reported the same thing with different notebooks.. I’m not so sure if they work at all. If they do, then perhaps with a very limited set of graphics adapters and TVs.
But these will definitely work. They are signal converters (not just a simple cable), therefore you don't need special driver support, will work with any VGA output.
Does the ATI Radeon 3100 support TV-Out through the RGB port?
