TigerDirect has a 200GB Hitachi TravelStar for $80... This would be great considering I wouldn't have to buy an external hdd anymore.

I would either be replacing my 80GB with the 200GB and partitioning it, or I would buy the 200GB + HD Adapter and use it...

Just need to know if the adapter will be compatible with the hard drive.

Yes, any standard 2.5" SATA Hard drive will work in your R61.

Are you aware if it will work specifically with the SATA Ultrabay HD Adapter? It would be nice to keep my 80GB as my system drive and add the 200GB for storage.

I hardly ever use my CD/DVD drive... most of the the stuff I use I mount images to run...

If this is what you are referring to, then yes it will work in the UltraBay adapter as well.

I would suggest swapping the system drive as the 200GB instead though as the 80GB will be much slower, using the newer 200GB would increase your overall system performance.

Doesn't matter, the 200GB will have a higher density and will have higher transfer/read speeds compared to the 80GB at the same rotation speed.
