It was supposed to have been launched late last year, but I still can't find any retailers actually selling it or OEMs using it as a system drive...

It is believed they are currently available from a German website shipping to the E.U. only.

That said, I've ordered a Mushkin Atlas that is faster, uses the Sandforce chip, and also uses toggle nand. If Samsung wants to be stupid, buy from someone else. MyDigitalSSD just announced new models, the high end of which uses synchronous nand and a sandforce controller. Lots of choices beside the PM830.

I have one that came installed in my Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook that I ordered back in February here in the US.

Sandforce slows down when bombarded by sequential writes, which is the most important factor as I rely on a program that generates a 5-15 GB output file whenever I hit the Save button.

The total amount of disk space required isn't that much since each newly saved file replaces the old one, but the amount of data written to disk is huge, even though the file is partially compressible.

@clintre: Nice to know. Wonder if Dell sells spare parts...?

To the best of my knowledge, Sammy is not released for retail. So no you can't buy it. There are many other mSata SSD 's but this is not one to get retail.
