    look to buy an intel 310 ssd when i buy my new notebook.Just wondering if the np5165 has an extra mini pci express slot besides the wireless card slot. If it does have one does this notebook support mini pci express/msata. I understand that mini pcie and msata are physically the same connection but electronically different. Are they compatible

    No, you need a laptop with existing PCI-express SSD support.

    As the others have stated, no mSATA in mini PCI-E format will not work. Primarily only business oriented laptops and netbooks support mini PCI-E SSDs.
