short story:
I want to replace it later on with a better card but I need to make sure it is user upgradeable in case asus replaces my card which is having memory problems but is still under warranty.
long story:
My notebook has been having gpu ram problems which causes it to bsod soon during any high gpu memory load. So I decided after I figured this out with the help of google that it happens to people with this laptop and must be repaired by asus. But I don't want them to fix this laptop and give it back because it has numerous other problems that they don't care about. One option might be for me to wait until they don't have any parts in stock but I am getting tired of not being able to play any game besides NBA 2K11 (because it is a console port that I suspect doesn't access that part of the card alot). So basically I want to know if I could upgrade my GPU later on to something like a 9800m GTX and use it solely for gaming

Nope, look how far down the centre contact pad is from the surrounding metal. That sucker is soldered onto the motherboard.

Yep, soldered in.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Yup to the above.
If you have the GT 240M that is it soldered onto the motherboard. Only the 15" and above with uber graphics will be MXM and last I checked ASUS uses a proprietary MXM format.
Does this N51vn look like it has MXM
