    Hey all,

I'm trying to find an external USB dock for my new M1210 with a video adapter that supports VGA @ 1680 x 1050! So far, I haven't found anything, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

    Thanks,
    night_2004

USB + monitors isn't a good combination. I believe you'll be limited to 16-bit color. See if Dell offers a dedicated docking solution for your m1210. Why not just hook up the monitor to your VGA port?

I was hoping to get something that *somewhat* matched the capabilities of the Latitude docking stations.

As for just plugging it in, I do that right now with my M140...but I "undock/dock" so often that any little bit might help!

    Why thank you.

I have my laptop hooked up to an external monitor at home; a docking station isn't available for my laptop (usually isn't for anything but mainstream brands). One solution is a VillageTronic VTBook:

Expensive though, and you would still have to plug it in/unplug it.

I'd just consider using the external VGA port. It's not a docking station, but it's really not too bad. Just set up a USB mouse and keyboard into a USB hub, and you have two whole things to plug in, instead of just one. A bit more work, but it's not too bad, especially since the ports are all together on the right side of the computer ;)
