Hello everyone, this is my first post here ! I'm now on this things so I have two questions.

I'm planning on change the thermal paste of my laptop as it has 4 years of high use (the temperatures are normal but I prefer replace the stock thermal paste for other new) but I can't find which measure should be the thermal pads. I've been looking and there are 3 sizes: 0.5 mm, 1 mm and 1.5 mm.

So, I have a Medion Erazer X7829 with a NVIDIA GTX 870M (3GB) and I want to know which size it's for my GPU card. 0.5 mm, 1 mm or 1.5 mm?

The other question came to me meanwhile I was searching on internet which size are the pads. I found this post here on the forum: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-the-graphics-card-in-a-medion-erazer.764562/ So I have checked my BIOS number and it's an E 1763 IM7.510, so according to the post it corresponds to a MS-1763 barbone. So I was wondering if I could upgrade my GPU and which card could be the top card that I could put on my laptop.

    Reading this line:

You also need to compare your current graphics card to see whether the power output is the same - it's best to upgrade from a 75w GPU to another 75w GPU, if that is your case.

So I was thinking on jump to GTX 9xx series but I found that GTX 980M has a TDP of 125W so I think that it's not possible, because the GTX 870M has a TDP of 100W.

    With this on mind:

MSI-branded cards are normally GREEN. Clevo cards and some Alienware cards are BLUE

I've tried to search on internet for some GTX 880M cards to see prices but I can't find any GREEN card (for MSI) I only have found BLUE cards (for CLEVO). There is someone how knows where I cound find some green versions? I'm just curious in case I could upgrade the GPU for the future.

    Regards and thank you!

Thanks for your answer, I'll take a look on that thread. I want to know if you know the size of the thermal pads for the GTX 870M or it doesn't matters which size I put?
