:( I accidently dropped my laptop from my lap. It fell backwards on the ground, the charger was connected and broke the fall but not a lot. I tested the laptop by rebooting it a couple of times, checked the hard drive and cd rom. Anything else I should do? The charger is working fine and the screen is as good as ever. Should I be worried?

Nothing more you can do. I guess your lappy survived :D

Just monitor the heat. Is it heating up any more than before? Sometimes due to shock the interface (thermal paste) between the CPU/GPU and the heatsink will crack and need to be reapplied. But that is rare.

Not likely. If any harddrives problems aren't evident almost immediately after the fall, things are A-OK. That is if there aren't any weird sounds or anything.

Sounds like you got lucky and things are in order.

I dropped my baby off a 3 foot stool at one of my school's coffee shops and I had a heart attack.

Everything was okay though. Thank the gods.

    Cheers,
    Mike
