I'll be picking up a new notebook for Christmas, but I face a choice.

There are several variants of the notebook differing mainly in the processor department. Thing is, one of them comes with a mouse, headphones and Draft-N WiFi rooter.

It carries the Intel T4300 processor. Another, slightly cheaper variant has the newer AMD Athlon II M320. Since I don't really care much about the WiFi rooter, the selling point will be relative performance. Oh, and both notebooks come with the Radeon 4570 VGA card.

I browsed notebookcheck, but it lists the Athlon at a lower position than the T4300, however, with no tests run; the fields are blank. And the only difference seems to be the FSB, listed at 800 for the T4300 and 3200 for the M320.

Since I'm not really into mobile processors, and I was unable to find another CPU comparison chart, I need some help :)

I like AMD. All my desktops are AMD because I think they offer better value than Intel in the desktop market unless you need top performance where Intel is king. I do not need top performance. Notebooks are quite different. Performance wise I think either is fine, but as a general rule Intel CPUs run cooler and offer better battery life. AMD's biggest plus is cost. Unless you're on a really tight budget or plan leave your notebook plugged in all the time, I'd say Intel is the way to go.

Both are relatively equal in terms of performance. It's not a big difference but I think the T4300 is slightly better. Are they both the same price?

The one with T4300 is 6 euro more expensive :) And it comes with a bonus mouse, headphones and Draft-N router. It's an Acer Aspire 5738ZG, the one with Athlon II is Aspire 5542, all other specs are the same.

Well if it's only a 6$ difference AND there's bonus accessories, get the one with the T4300.

In that case the T4300-based system is probably a better purchase.

Yeah but disregard the bonuses, I just need to know which processor is faster :)

    The T4300 will be faster.

T4300 is faster but it's not anything significant.
