I need a dual drive enclosure, I have a 2.5" 500GB HDD (Seagate Momentus 7200RPM) and another 3.5" 3TB HDD (Western Digital Caviar Green) that I would just like to keep together in one case as opposed to buying multiple external enclosures. If there are enclosures that can hold more than two hard drives, that would be great to know as well, as I still have previous external HDD which is a 500GB HDD (Maxtor 5400RPM) that I wouldn't mind including.

I hate to be wasteful, as I know the 3TB is more than enough for me, I will most probably use one of the 500GB-HDD for just cloning my primary HDD in my laptop in the event it fails or something happens to it, I will always have a back-up.

Please do not hesitate to, even things seem expensive, I don't mind researching them and finding cheaper deals on my own.

Correct me if i'm wrong but is the Welland ME-280J not a 2.5" enclosure?

An enclosure which is able to hold a 2.5 and a 3.5 HDD is required

    1) As many have mentioned before, you can easily buy 2.5" --> 3.5" bracket / adapters. The good news is that 2.5" and 3.5" use the same SATA connectors and cables. So the only thing that a 2.5" --> 3.5" SATA adapter does is to provide physical mounting (re-aligned screw holes), so that a 2.5" drive will fit into a space designed for a 3.5" drive.

    2) Other people have made recommendations for drive mechanisms that support multiple drives. If you happen to want a multi-drive enclosure that supports RAID, then you'll want to look into either a NAS device or a RAID-enabled drive enclosure, like a NexStar MX NST-400MX-SR.
