The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Since it is HP why don't you download the Service Manual and look it over if it is dual memory it will most likely say it in there.

1 x 8GB means one 8GB module which is single channel. However, this page with the detailed M2Y93EA specs shows 2 SODIMM slots which means the computer is potentially dual channel if you add more RAM. I can't vouch for the accuracy of that source.
