Hey i have a CRT monitor hooked up to my laptop ( i can't believe i only just worked out that that weird thing that looked like a vga slot on my laptop WAS a vga slot on my laptop without the screws..) lol anyways.
i want to be able to play GRID on the CRT monitor and be able to answer msn messages on my laptop, is that possible???

yes. under your display properties there should be an option to extend the desktop display. you can have one window maximized on each display, your taskbar will be on your laptop.
right click anywhere on your desktop and select properties. then select the settings tab. look for the display settings there. -
but GRID opens on my laptop when i want it on my CRT and also my CRT goes black, if i click my CRT monitor the game minimizes on my laptop.

when things are working properly, you should be able to shrink the window on your laptop, move the whole window over the the other monitor, and maximize it there... this works with any application i have used, maybe GRID is different?

how it won't let me drag it or right click it

ah, i see. try putting a shortcut for the game on the external monitor. open it there.
-
What else can i do?

this is a weird fix, but could you set the CRT as the primary display and the laptop monitor as the secondary (and extend the desktop to the laptop screen)? maybe then you could then run the game on the CRT and do something else on the laptop...

Only way to stay in a game and chat on IM would be to have the game Windowed. Otherwise The game will always minimize.

i don't know how to play it windowed but oh well i've got a work around for now/
