I'm new here and had a question... maybe a stupid question. How can I be sure that my C2D processor is running both cores in XP? I only recently purchased a new notebook a few weeks ago, but I've been told that manufacturer's don't always enable the dual core feature.

The 2 windows under the CPU usage, are the 2 cores.. And also the device manager will show u the same.. 2 processors..

if u r using any widget engines, (yahoo or google) there are widgets available which will monitor ur core performance..

Or try installing any system monitoring tool.. (I use PC Wizard) It will show u the 2 cores.. Besides it will also help u to check ur other hardwares..
