Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone here has multiple displays set up and plays games. It gets annoying when you click on the secondary display and the game minimizes. This is most apparent when playing strategy games where there is side scrolling. Does any one know if there's a way to prevent this from happening?
Thanks

I have an old desktop computer (with an ancient radeon 8500) and sometimes in the past I used a dual/trial screen config but i never had any problem with games because normally the mouse pointer couldn't exit from the screen where i was gaming unless i pressed the "Alt+Tab" or "Win+D" keys to exit from the game.
Unfortunately I must say that I didn't tested the latest games...
Could you describe your config and the games that cause this problem?
You could also check if there's something on the support sites of these games, maybe others have already solved your problem.

I use a dual-monitor setup on my laptop and I never have the problem you are having because as rammin mentioned, I can't move the mouse pointer out of the monitor the game is running on.
What you could try doing is setting up different display profiles and just disable the secondary display when you game. -
Really? yes i have experienced that in some games but games like command & conquer 3 and supreme commander just lets the mouse slide right over to the other monitor. I've got an Asus A8Js with a Go7700 using ForceWare version 84.63. I've got a widescreen lcd plugged into the dvi port and a regular(not wide) lcd plugged into the vga port. My widescreen is my primary monitor and is oriented to the right of the other lcd. I will follow your advice on trolling forums for the specific games.

Hmm thats strange, i thought i put those thread in the off topic section...
but anyway, i found a way to fix my problem and i thought it'd only be proper if i shared it.
In the nvidia control panel where you can change all sorts of settings for your display, you could create display profiles for specific games. what you have to do is create a profile for the game your playing and scroll down the list of things you can change until you hit one that says hardware acceleration. check the box pertaining to it and set it to any of the options that deal with dual displays. apply the settings, start the game, close it, and restart it and it should work dandy just like it should (by stopping at the edge of the monitor and not sliding off to the 2nd one)
