I am not sure if I am posting in the right forums, but I have just recently got a refund for my HP ENVY 14 due to horrible repair services. I am aware of the new sandy bridge processor and was wondering if laptops with dual core sandy bridge will be coming out in february. I have tried looking online, but there is no word on any dual-core laptops that have been previewed.

    Thanks
    Kangu

Yes, but not until February 20th at earliest.

Why go for dual core? Its not going to offer any power savings over the quads since any cores not being used a power gated.

It would simply be a cost reducing method.

This is probably true, but then again we haven't seen any battery life tests with dual-cores yet. Even so, the most I'd expect is an extra 30 minutes in most cases, possibly 45 in very rare cases. The only reason to go with a dual core is price, really.

Thanks Citypig, I'll be on the lookout then =]

I'm not too fluent with what the processors specs, so I just learned something from your statement. Thanks for that.
Anyways, I'm more concerned with getting a 13-14in laptop with SB...the ones out now are 15.6in+ so im not too interested in those ones.
Oh yeah, and the price is a factor in it as well.

    Thanks again,
    Kangu
