No, I'm not talking about plugging in a monitor via your laptop's VGA output:

Yep, that's a laptop with two integrated displays. From the photos, it seems that they use a sort of sliding mechanism, and if you choose to, you can have only one display shown, like a "normal" laptop.
It only weighs 10 pounds (about 4.5 kilograms), and you can reserve it 50% for just a $1,400 payment![]()
Interesting concept, but not worth the money in terms of specs:
- Core i7-740QM
- 8GB DDR3
- GTS 250M 1GB
- 500GB SATA 7,200 RPM hard drive
And all the other ports and stuff you expect in a laptop.
Oh, and one year warranty![]()

Wow that seems very strange, yet very awesome
i would just hope that the screens weight wouldent be to great so it would tip over. Seems like a cool concept if its executed correct!
-
a little too bulky to be a notebook/laptop??
10lbs is insane -

I'm sure this isn't the first laptop with this design...
-
Well, I've never heard of one. Sorry if this isn't news, I can delete it if I posted this in error.
-
It's still newsworthy, it's an unusual design but there's been the odd laptop like that before: The Kohjinsha AMD Neo netbook has a dual display? Say what?!
-
Well this one will be the first actual dual-screen notebook to go on sale in the US. I wonder who is gonna buy those.
-
Heh, I thought this post was regarding the Acer (?) that just came out with a duo screen, but the other screen is where the keyboard usually is ...more of an Art major laptop. It's pretty much a virtual keyboard and comes with one of those touchscreen pens to draw with.
This one however is incredible! -
GScreen's dual-screen SpaceBook touts twin 17-inchers, now up for pre-order -- Engadget
For those that are interested in a true "mobile" desktop replacement! Though it has a pretty craptastic GPU (GTS 250M) and they misspelled "discrete" as "discreet" in their source page (GScreen). -
Looks like its been in the works that long the hardware is even out of date lol.
-
Lenovo already had something similar, the w700ds. But this looks pretty good.
-
The only thing "dual screen" that would come close to something I'd purchase is the Acer Iconia, and even then I think it's just a gimmick.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Gives that W701DS a run for it's money!
-
just a couple observations, interesting thing is this company is in Alaska....not exactly silicon valley
also it would be more interesting if they could do something about the gap between them
thanks for sharing as this is a very interesting concept -
I like it, but first gen icore and a GTS 250???
the concept/design is simple enough, I wonder....
*sneaks into hidden workshop in mom's basement* -
From the website:
No thanks.
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
lol 10 pounds is nothing...M18x with CF 6990M and AC adapter is like...15.8 pounds.
-
All I have to say is
i7-740QM? Seriously? -
Nah, that's also nothing, my car is about the weight of a baby elephant and it is equipped with a seat warmer.
On the serious side, 10 pounds is nothing. -
That Ugly thing for 2700$?????????
-
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
-
It doesn't show resolution of the screens either.
For cheaper just carry a USB monitor with you. -

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder.
Two (portable) screens would be ideal for certain shoots I do.
As to the i7 740QM... I'm sure you could spend more (very soon...) and get the latest SNB platform on these.
Yeah, the style is not to everyone's taste - but give me function over style anyday (two screens = +80% productivity boost when using 3 or more programs (photography/images).
My minimum spec's on such a system would be:
i7 2720QM, 3 HDD Bays, BluRay burner and 32GB RAM.
Yeah, it'll cost a ton - but it should be a potent on-site workstation for the next few years. -
...until the slide tracks jam and your have to carry a 3' long laptop back with you on the plane

Looking for problems?
