    Hello guys, me again.

Say, I've been having some issues with the PREMA MOD version 1.5 and 3.0 Bios mods.
The funny thing is both the Stock, and UV (Undervolt) versions work with my 650m, but forbid if I install the OV version, I get system shut downs almost hourly. Again, If i switch to the previous two versions, even while overclocking, no issues.

ANYWAYS, I'm quite firmilliar with Bios editing, both on the VBios, and Bios side of things. But, I've never had this issue. I cannot find a way to "Extract" or dump the Vbios which is inside of the regular system Bios.

GPUz, throws me an error "This device doesn't support BIOS...." and everything else i've tried (Including NVFlash) will not give it to me. I've torn apart the bios with AMIBCP, but find nothing about anything Nvidia related. I could do anything from voltage adjustments and clock editing for the HD4000, but nothing for the discreet card.

Anyone know how I can go about dumping the VBios? Thanks.

    Thanks.

I think you have to activate the GPU (using HWinfo 64 you can poll the GPU to keep it active and then GPU-Z should be able to dump GPU..

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to decompile the BIOS to get the Vbios.

i7-3920XM was never intended to be sold in W110ER, it's a miracle that the AC Adapter doesn't shut down on stock...You need a 180W Adapter if you want to overclock/overvolt.

    @Prema

It seems that my 120W brick is actually quite capable of handling a beating. I load tested it, completely reliably upto ~145w. Of course, I didn't want to kill it, so I felt good leaving the levels at that. Load under LinPack @ 14GB RAM, and Furmark Extreme Burn-In rolls me into the 123W territory as the most i've recorded. Albeit with my 3920XM overclocked at 3.8-3.9GHz. As well as my 650m overclocked.

I was just wondering if it would be possible for you to point me in the right direction to edit the Vbios, is it Hex only? Or is there A way I can dump the Vbios from the AMI ROM? Just let me know which tool i need is all.

    Thanks.

Also, Here is a picture of the machine with my cooling enhancement until I can figure out a MOD to get some better TDP Capacity.

I liked the one Taiwanese Guy's mod where he put two fans and modded the heatpipes, but I have no idea where I could get the tools to machine something like that. I'm thinking about getting one of the Larger Sager fans that are thicker and have a higher CFM to replace the one I currently am using. Even overvolting the stock Clevo fan from the 5.0v to 9.0v is not enough to prevent a thermal shutdown.

Dude, you're nuts. I enjoy a good mod, but this is way out of control, lol. Laptop will be dead in 3, 2, 1... BOOM!

That's pretty awesome, but one would think you would've already learned your lesson from the dead GT60 :D

That GT60 Had it coming for it lol. Apparently there are GT60's that have nearly Identical part numbers that only differentiate at the last digit or so. Long story short, I flashed the wrong version of the Bios which I believe had an Earlier EC version... That thing was not even bricked, it was literally a block of concrete. Only way I could have recovered it was re-soldering the BIOS EEPROM, which was like a 80Pin QFP. (No thanks). So I went ahead and "Accidentally" had a manufacturing defect *Wink*. Saved me a few thousand dollars lol.

ANYWAYS, I apparently somehow fixed my thermal issues... With a piece of Duct Tape.. I was actually pissed off I couldn't get this thing stable, poured hours into this damn thing to work. So i just got my roll of duct tape, and just wrapped the crap out of that heat-sink, eliminating all of the gaps. between the Fan, and the Heat-sink. To my dismay, I managed to completely remove the thermal issues, I've been running it for two days now, not a single shut down. Where as I used to be getting them by the hour. Not to mention, my Load temp for the GPU diode is in the ~75c Range.

Now, I need an OVER-overvolted Vbios. IE 1.2v ;) So, Still seeking that same Vbios file, I'm hoping to be able to hit ~+400Mhz or even closer to ~+450Mhz on the GPU core.

That's a lot of voltage for that clock speed. My 650M SLI is doing 1150 MHz @ 1.05 V.

Yup that voltage is absurd... You don't want to be running your mobile GPU's at anything above 1.1V 24/7 unless you want it to burn out...

    Neat :) !
Seems alright if the 145W is socket. The 120W rating is for output, after all, not draw. If it actually supplies 120W to the laptop then 17% loss due to inefficiency (heat) isn't unexpected. Pretty hot, probably, might drill a few holes in the casing.
Use newer MMTool (or bios_extract); Extract -> Option ROM (10de, fd1). When done with KBT; Replace -> Option ROM.
    Errr ... yeeesss ... o_O

Not with that mod, you don't. Either watercooling or replace the stock fan with a Delta BFB0712HF (meant for GTX 480 @ 250W). Normally it wouldn't fit due to height, but since you have cover removed ... draws ~22W (currently 2W). Need to source 12V straight from the battery or make split-off with in-line resistor from the new 180W adapter. Might have to weight everything down, though ... and use ear plugs. Better tie down that aquarium too ... :D
