Another question...how do you know one laptop is more durable than another?
I apologize if this is in the wrong category...I didn't know where to put it lol.
Do you just go by the tests the company runs or word of mouth or what? Thanks lol..

well, if the chassis is made of magnesium alloy, carbon fiber, or some other special material, that is an indication that it is well-built. however, some computers can be made of a sturdy plastic and are just as durable. the best way to really know is by reputation, really....not very scientific.

Thanks...just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something lol

if you are actually using the computer, another thing to determine build quality is to test for flex (e.g. keyboard, lid) and strength of hinges.

With some notebooks,by just handling it in various different positions you'll be able to tell. My Acer tends to be flimsy on both sides of the touchpad but my screen is well protected. It's more intuitive rather than "scientific". While handling it,you'll automatically go,"Hmm,feels flimsy" or "Wow,this is solid!". It can't be explained (sense of touch lol)
