I have an old Toshiba Tecra Te2100, trying to remove the dvd-rom.

Is the guide i've seen, however it just shows an arrow pulling it out. I've tried with everything I've got to pull it, and even tried screwdrivers and such, no luck. More screws or something?

That guide is no good at all. There must be a screw securing the DVD drive. Is there any screws near DVD drive?

I think I have found the info
"All you have to do is slide the DVD drive lock into UNLOCKED position and remove the drive. If the lock doesn’t move, remove one screw securing the lock (the screw is located on the right side)."

There is a release, thanks a lot. Its actually pretty big too, I thought it was for the battery! Haha
The drive is a Toshiba Sd-C2502. It says ATAPI. Can I get any dvd-rom to replace it as long as its atapi? (And the right size of course) -

check it, if it looks like the same.
I replace my Inspiron 1100 dvd burner before/ most of them use the same type of connection and type. -
Yup, thats what I did also on my Dell 1150, it was a 24x CDRW/DVD combo drive, now its 8x DVD+/- Burner. I got it from Newegg also, NEC brand but different model. Its not the same model as currently selling at Newegg.
