Hows does the E-350 from AMD fair against Intel's SU9400? In particular, I am comparing the new Thinkpad X120e with the cheapest version of the mac book air. The air cost nearly twice as much and both have quite impressive build quality. Trying to see if there is really any justification for paying an extra $400 other than the operating system.

    Thanks

From benchmarks the SU9400 isn't far ahead of the E-350.

Graphics wise the 320M (not GT 320M) benches lower than the Intel HD 3000 GPU while the Radeon 6310 GPU is on the level of the HD 3000. So it's a trade off of the Fusion APU offering better graphics while the SU9400 offering better CPU performance.

Well, if off lease is okay you can get a Dell Latitude D430 with a ULV Core 2 for pretty cheap. And these things are magnesium alloy too.

    Just something to consider.

Look at the price of the Lenovo and then look at the price of the Air. I mean, if money isn't an issue the air is a beautiful and well-built machine. But I mean it's double the price for the 11 inch (more?)

My dm1 gets 6-7 of normal web-surfing. I think most E-350 notebooks get at least 5, even 15.6'' ones.

I thought the dm1z was capable of something close to 10 hours? The x120e is ~5-6 hours.

I am sure I could get around 9 hours with the brightness all the way down and the computer idle. But with 70% and normal stuff I get around 6.
