For those that have done the upgrade in RAM, how big of performance gain did you get? Just curious... Just got the following:
Inspiron E1505
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (4MB Cache/2.00GHz/667MHz FSB)
XP Media Center Edition '05 (Free Express Upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium)
15.4 Inch Wide Screen WSXGA+ Display with TrueLife (1680X1050).
2GB (1024MB) 533MHz DDR2
160GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
8X CD/DVD Burner Dual Layer
256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400
-
2GB (1024MB) 533MHz DDR2
that doesn't make sense. -
It gets faster, but the latencies get higher. You aren't going to see a difference for most applications.
-
I noticed no performance difference. As stated, the increase in speed is negated by the higher latency. There is a sticky in the hardware forum comparing the differences in types. 667 RAM actually benched lower.

533MHz vs 667Mhz isn't something you should worry about even if the latencies were the same. In order to benefit from faster RAM you need a CPU that is actually making use of the added bandwidth and the Core Duo/Core 2 Duo processors aren't bandwidth starved.
E1505 533MHz -> 677MHz
