With the advent of the upgraded E1505 with the 8600M graphics card along with a lot of other graphics cards compatible with DX10, is it possible for those mobility cards to be compatible with the E1505 as well? Despite the fact that the current E1505 does not use the Santa Rosa architecture?

I have a feeling the e1505's replacement is nothing like the current e1505. Look what they did to the m1210, if they continue to do that to all their models(I don't see why not, HP and Acer, their top rival company are 'prettying' up their notebooks), the future 15.4" from Dell may be a whole new laptop, which means the e1505 is end of line, so you may be out of luck.

However, this is just speculation, so until the new notebooks come out, it's anyones guess.

    It is not likely.

Even if it were the same chassis and the same gpu module, this is a switch to a new motherboard.

So you dont have a bios that uses the e1505 motherboard and the 8600 gt. dell gpus have the bios of the gpu in the motherboard bios.

Thats how they upgrade the e1705 to the xps gpu, they have the xps bios with the same motherboard.

Cant upgrade the 9300 to the e1705 gpus even though they fit because theres no such bios.
