I have come across ecc and non-ecc ram. Im not sure wich of these to get? With they both work with the mother board? Or will only non-ecc work for my M6811? Thanks!

ECC is typically used by servers and such and is generally a little more expensive. You will see no benefit from buying it.

Your notebook can't use it...I suppose it would still work but there is zero reason to buy it.
