    Hi!

I have a Dell Latitude D820. It has an EIDE 40 gb Hard Drive. I'd like to get a larger and, if possible, faster Hard drive for it.

Do I have to replace it with an EIDE HDD? If so, where can I find a 7200 rpm EIDE?

    What other options are there?

    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks, ajfink.

I've owned a bunch of laptops over the years, but I have only recently started to pay attention to the innards.

Are you saying that EIDE is the same as IDE?
Is ATA-6 the same as EIDE?

Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it!
