    Hello!

I'd like to buy an eurocom W860CU laptop, but before I buy it I wanna ask something about it. This laptop included an ATI 5870M graphics card. Can I upgrade it later to a GTX 560M? Is it possible?

Sure thing you could change out the graphics cards, though it's not really an upgrade at all. Think of a more powerful card for a better upgrade option, such as the 69xxm series or 470m and up

Thanks. I think it can handle the GTX 580M and ATI 6990M graphics cards too.
My other question is can I upgrade the i7-720qm to i7-2730qm?

No to the CPU upgrade, you are limited to Clarksfield CPUs which means 720/740/820/840 qm or 920/940 xm.

Unless you're getting it for less than $600, I wouldn't bother. The lowest end P150HM would be a better choice.

If you do keep it, those 5870m's overclock like beasts. I had mine at 900 at 1.15v after a repaste.

I've seen quite a few complaints on this company on the Sager forums so do a little research.
Afaik other clevo resellers do not sell the w860cu model anymore, so I'm wondering why eurocom still has it on their roster. Could be a refurbished product so beware.
As others have mentioned you're probably better off getting the newer models.
And lastly, the w860cu won't take an sandy bridge cpu, and although I've seen guys use a 6970 with the machine, I'm not sure if there is bios support for the 580 or 6990.
    Good luck!

I somehow doubt that the BIOS for the W860CU can be modified in such a way as to accommodate the 580M... however, I could be wrong. If anyone has an idea of how to do something like that please post (i would be very excited with a 580M upgrade as well).

The w860cu doesn't officially support the 6970, but it does work with the machine. Best to look at the owners lounge to check if someone has tried.
But like I mentioned above, considering everything, I think it's just best to get a newer model from a different reseller
