Take the hard drive out of your 9262 and put into an external enclosure.

If you are going to do this, make sure you 'shut-down' the 9262 and not stand-by or hibernate it.

Ethernet is how I would do it

I would do it through the router, that is how I move 120GB batches all the time :D

But I think there is a 72.5 GB size limit on individual files (it was a weird story)

Easiest way would be to copy the data to an external hard drive or network share, and then copy it back from there to your new laptop. If you don't have a server or an external drive then you could move your current hard drive into an external case, and then connect that to your new laptop via USB. Or you could use a transfer cable (see here), but that may work only if both laptops are running Windows Vista.

Do not use USB or firewire, it would take days

I have only a 100 router and use the wireless N, and this is from XP to Vista.

But Ethernet is the way to go

    Ethernet

    or

If you're confident your current computer is free of viruses and is well optimized, buy a 2.5" enclosure for $20 (I got the azio), remove the new laptop's hdd, put it in the enclosre, and hook it up to the old laptop. Use acronis trial software to clone the drive.

Ethernet works best. I once transferred 500GB
Doesn't have to go through the router, just connect the two laptops with an Ethernet cable.

If you are directly connecting the 2 laptops you will need a crossover cable, you can also get crossover adapters so you use a standard land cable.

When I am transferring something that huge I usually just tar it up, get the network transferring and go have a coffee!
