    Hi,

I have noticed lately that my laptop has slowed down, after some closer inspection I have found that my t5250 processor is running at 1GHz, and the spec says that it should be running at 1.5GHz. I'm a bit of a novice at looking after computers so any suggestions as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated! Below are some of the specs. If I need to give more info just shout!

    Cheers

what does it run at when you stress it?
check your bios settings and dissable power saving options.

if all else fails then use setfbs to clock it back up.

That's Intel SpeedStep. It automatically downclocks your CPU when you're not using to to its full potential, to save power and generate less heat. Try looking at your speed while running a stress test like WPrime or something.
