I have a Sony Vaio VGN-CR220E notebook and have recently upgraded to Windows 7. My problem is this: I am a student who requires hardware virtualization enabled on my PC in order to do the work assigned to me as it is all done on virtual machines. I have recently found out that 'although my system DOES support hardware virtualization Sony has disabled it in my BIOS' and does not give the option to enable it.
I have resigned myself to the fact that I am going to have to flash my BIOS in order to bypass Sony's restrictions but I have never done this before and have heard that it can be very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing.

Could somebody please guide me through this process so I don't end up frying my notebook?

    Thanks.
