I am looking into editing the dsdt tables of my Asus G51 to alter fan control settings but what I have researched online (the few resources are for linux only...) haven't seemed to clear. I am using Vista x64 SP2 btw.

So, I was wondering whether anyone here have lots of experience with editing the dsdt and can provide me with a mini guide on basically how to extract, edit, and then replace the original one...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
